Eller kort BLMC som sedermera blev enbart Leyland.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 \u00e4n idag s\u00e5 rullar det bussar och lastbilar av produktionsbandet med det karakteristiska turbinhjulet med tillh\u00f6rande L i grillen, men mer om detta senare.<\/p>\n<p>Men det b\u00f6rjade mycket tidigare n\u00e4rmare best\u00e4mt 1896 d\u00e5 Lancashire Steam Motors bildades och man byggde \u00e5ngdrivna lastbilar p\u00e5 mellan 1,5-5 ton.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pudenitroz.se\/blogg\/?attachment_id=5866\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5866\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5866\" src=\"http:\/\/www.pudenitroz.se\/blogg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Lancashire-Steam-Motors-300x109.jpg\" alt=\"Lancashire Steam Motors\" width=\"300\" height=\"109\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pudenitroz.se\/blogg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Lancashire-Steam-Motors-300x109.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pudenitroz.se\/blogg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Lancashire-Steam-Motors.jpg 760w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tiden rulla p\u00e5 f\u00f6r Lancashire Steam Motors parallellt med sin lokala \u00e5ngbils konkurrent Coulthard, men konkurrensen fr\u00e5n uppstickaren Crossley som erbj\u00f6d bensindrivna bussar som ett alternativ till de \u00e5ngdrivna.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 1907 besl\u00f6t sig Coulthard och Lancashire Steam Motor att g\u00e5 samman, men vad skulle det nya f\u00f6retaget heta?<br \/>\nJo b\u00e5da f\u00f6retagen l\u00e5g i staden Leyland i Lancashire s\u00e5 vad kunde passa b\u00e4ttre \u00e4n Leyland Motors Ltd s\u00e5 Leyland som fordonstillverkare bildades 1907 s\u00e5 nu vet ni det \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Man var f\u00f6rst med m\u00e5nga tekniska l\u00f6sningar bland annat s\u00e5 gick man fr\u00e5n kedjedrift och inf\u00f6rde kardandrift redan 1909, vid samma tidsperiod s\u00e5 byggde man \u00e4ven en brandbil med en rak bensinsexa p\u00e5 85 h\u00e4stkrafter och med en toppfart p\u00e5 96km\/h.<\/p>\n<p>Men man n\u00f6jde sig inte med nyttofordon utan lagom till den internationella bilutst\u00e4llningen i London 1920 s\u00e5 presenterade man lyxbilen Leyland Eight med en rak 8:a p\u00e5 7,3 liter, priset sattes h\u00f6gre \u00e4n p\u00e5 lyxbilen nummer ett Rolls-Royce och blev s\u00e5ldes den dyraste bilen som fanns att k\u00f6pa i England.
